  • Growing instructions: olive trees can be grown successfully for many years in pots as patio plants, just move the tree, container and all, outdoors during warm summer months and bring it indoors before the weather dips below freezing, keep the pot in full sun by a south facing window as much as possible, they adapt well to growing in the container provided and should be transplanted it to a larger pot as needed, fertilize in spring and mid-summer with a small amount of any slow-release fertilizer, following the directions on the package, prune often, pinching off the growing tips will promote bushiness while removing a branch from the base will open up space within the center of the tree, a root prune can also help lengthen its viable potted life, water thoroughly and regularly while letting the surface soil dry between watering, do not over water, but realize that potted plants need to be watered often, be sure the pot drains well
