You do have the option to use a key too as the single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked with either option from the outside or with the turn button on the inside. Installation is easy and the SmartCode program is easy to use and it operates with 4 AA batteries. There is a patented Secure Screen technology to prevent code detection from fingerprints on the touchscreen.
