The Unicel FG1260 Purex 2000 4000 Replacement Vertical DE Swimming Pool Filter Grid is compatible with Pentair Purex 2000 series D.E. filter (SM/SMBW 2060, 8 required) and Pentair Purex 4000 series D.E. filter (SM/SMBW4060, 8 required) DE (diatomaceous earth) filters are ideal for the cleanest, most sparkling pool and spa waters because they can trap debris as small as 2 mic to 5 mic (for perspective, a human hair measures between 30 mic and 120 mic). That’s why many in the industry call them water polishers. DE filter grids can be cleaned and recoated with DE powder to lengthen their life, but at some point, they become too worn or damaged to be effective, expect a lifespan of 2-years to 3-years. This Unicel replacement, made of spunbonded, 100% polyester material, will require cleaning less often than other filter grids and it will last longer, too.
