Pawnee Pecan Tree

The Pawnee Pecan tree is one of the most planted and beloved pecan trees in North America due to its high yield potential for high quality nuts of large size. The pecans ripen early, average mid-September, and their excellent kernel color and quality make them a great nut to have around the house (or in a pie) for the holiday season. The tree produces approximately 55 nuts per pound and are thin shelled so they are easily crackable. The Pawnee is hardy in Zones 6-9 and is a Type 1 pollinator. We recommend the Elliot pecan tree as a good pollinator. It can be planted in full sun or partial shade and can tolerate a variety of soil types. The Pawnee Pecan is a smaller mature tree, reaching heights of 25 ft to 30 ft and spread of 15 ft to 20 ft. It is shipped in a 4x4x10" pot with a minimum height of 12 inches.
