MDF is a composite wood and is very commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, shelving and decorative moldings. Mantel ships in 3-pieces; 2 legs and 1 header. The legs attach easily with nuts and bolts. 3-Pieces mitered scribe molding set included to hide gaps after installation. Mitered hanger boards are included for easy installation to your mounting surface. Consult a professional for hanging hardware to insure a secure and safe mount. 1-1/2 in. projection off of the wall leaves space behind the mantel to accommodate tile, stone. Projection: 1-1/2 in.
