The Shi Shi Gashira Camellia is a classic low-growing camellia selection. It’s known for its large semi-double fuchsia pink flowers that nearly coat the entire shrub. These blooms begin to emerge in mid-fall and continue to rebloom through winter. The foliage is dark green, leathery, and glossy, which creates a dynamic color contrast. This compact variety maxes out at 4-5 ft. tall and 6-8 ft. wide, so it’s a perfect choice for a low-maintenance hedge or border with some serious blooming potential. The Shi Shi Gashira Camellia is hardy from USDA Zones 7-10. Plant them in Partial Sun (3-4 hours of direct sun) or all-day filtered sun.
